November 24th 2025 – Polar Bear
In an endless vast turquoise sea, I found myself swimming openly against its waters. A stench of salt lingered as I bounced between these waves. It was pure emptiness aside from a metal cage that wandered away indiscriminately. As I watched my protector flee, I felt the deep stare of another being. My head sunk into the water. My eyes ached and my nose burned yet I could see clearly. From the depths, between the transitional lines of abyss and light, I could see a beast swimming rapidly towards me.
A polar bear with eyes and a snout as dark as the cosmos. It carried the pelt of the purest snow with a glare of convection and asserteness. It began to load its attack, I could see its mouth widen. Demonstrating a perfect collection of detailed whitely sharp teeth. Like staring down the barrel of a gun, I could see glimpses of its inners as it raced me.
I reacted quickly and grabbed it by the neck. With each strike, I could feel the acid stench of their breath. I often twisted and tilted its head as a way to dodge this creature, on other occasions I would simply move. Swaying left and right depending on the dangerousness of the situation, yet the bear and I never dove back into the waters. Our bodies were afloat ~ perfectly in sync with the dances of the waves and our battle. I could feel danger, hints of fear, but it did not seem to be enough to stop me.
I had become hyperaware while engaged by this creature. Changes began to manifest around in my scenery. My metal safe haven had drifted far from my right. In its place, various icebergs took its place. They came in various sizes, usually big enough for me to climb aboard. To my left, I witnessed the arrival of a large ship. The hull was painted grey, with various men curiously looking over a metallic railing. It seems like some form of military ship. Capable people watching my struggles as they silently judge my survival act.
With each bite, I wondered if the next would be my end. As the world grew heavier, and the beast grew nearer, I couldn’t help but to awake.
